Duties: Prepare and implement lessons for students focusing on ELA, Math, and project-based learning/ extracurricular activities. 

Other: Experience working with English Language Learners preferred, bilingual English/Spanish a plus. 

Distance Learning Specialist - Full-time (2)C03222024

The Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation (CiTi BOCES) is developing new and exciting programs. CiTi is seeking individuals who are flexible, creative, innovative, who think fluidly in a dynamic work environment, and will work to provide unique learning opportunities for students.  Candidates must have strong instructional technology skills and be well versed in virtual learning.  

CiTi BOCES seeks two full time Distance Learning Specialists who have a strong background in instructional technology in the classroom as a teacher or as a technology coach.  The Distance Learning Specialists would join a team dedicated to the evolving needs of virtual learning via interactive videoconferencing.  One of the positions will focus on coordinating an interactive videoconferencing service for districts in the Finger Lakes Region and the other will support an existing and growing interactive videoconferencing service in Oswego and Cayuga County.  Interactive videoconferencing courses are shared amongst districts and with local community colleges.  While some of the time may be remote work, most of the time will be in districts working with staff, students, and the colleges. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate an interactive videoconferencing service for districts in the Finger Lakes Region (One Position) and support an existing and growing interactive videoconferencing service in Oswego and Cayuga County (One Position).
  2. Provide training and support for distance learning teachers.
  3. Facilitate a network of distance learning facilitators from each school.
  4. Work in an early college high school environment, supporting students and monitoring progress.
  5. Collaborate with other distance learning programs across the state.
  6. Support distance learning equipment and infrastructure.

Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting. Work hours will vary, predominantly late afternoon to evenings.

The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation (CiTi BOCES) has a need for Teaching Assistants for various General Education, Exceptional Education and Alternative Education programs across Oswego County for the 2023-2024 school year. 

Teaching Assistants assist teachers by performing duties such as: Working with individual pupils or groups of pupils on special instructional projects. Provide the teacher with information about pupils that will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning experiences. Assisting pupils in the use of available instructional resources, and assisting in the development of instructional materials. Utilizing their own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs in such areas as:  foreign languages, arts, crafts, music and similar subjects. Assisting in related instructional work as required.

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Is neat in appearance and appropriately dressed. Relates well to others. Demonstrates a sense of humor. Uses personal talents and strengths to advantage.
