We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our CiTi BOCES Stepping Stones Day Treatment Program. This role involves working with students who have mental health needs, providing them with the support and education they need to thrive academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters emotional and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals, parents, and other educators to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s education.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, maintaining a calm and safe classroom environment.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and mental health.
