This position is responsible for providing technical support for all database applications in development and production.   Employee manages database administration and assists in capacity planning. The Assistant Database Administrator develops web-based applications as required to support the priorities of the organization and their database systems.  

PRIMARY WORK ACTIVITIES: 

  • Participates in data administration, data design, web interface development (PHP and similar scripting languages), SQL (system query language) and applications, and architecture and database analysis;
  • Reviews database design and integration of systems and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements;
  • Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls;
  • Provides appropriate consulting, interfacing, and standards relating to database management and monitors transactional activity and utilization;
  • Prepares and/or reviews activity, progress, and performance reports;
  • Maintains computerized databases, including relational databases to insure accurate appropriate and effective use of data including database definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, and operational guidelines;
  • Diagnoses, resolves, and implements measures to prevent problems in applications and system software;
  • Designs data storage and management processes for specific data warehouse projects;
  • Works with data architects and other development team members to determine, establish, and maintain database facilities suitable for development of SQL application architectures;
  • Assists new application development teams in determining complex database environment requirements;
  • Performs quality control audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper usage of data in tables and various support tools such as data dictionaries.

The Center for Instruction Technology & Innovation (CiTi BOCES) has an opening for a high school Nursing Assistant teacher.  This opening is in the Career & Technical Education Department.  The teacher is required to provide classroom instruction and supervise students on clinical rotations.  This is a full-time, 10-month teaching position that follows the CiTi BOCES school calendar.  NYS Teacher Retirement benefits are included.

High School 6:1:2 Special Education Teacher - ScienceT04012024

(CiTi BOCES) is currently seeking a certified Special Education Teacher, preferably with experience teaching high school science. As a special education teacher in a high school 6:1:2 classroom, you will provide specialized science instruction and support to a small group of students with very high needs in most or all needed areas, including academic, social and/or interpersonal development, physical development, and management. You will work collaboratively with 2 full-time paraprofessionals, a counselor, behavior specialist, administrator, and other related service providers to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for your students. You will also implement individualized education plans (IEPs), monitor student progress, and communicate with families and other stakeholders.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver instruction that is aligned with the New York State Learning Standards and the students’ IEP goals and objectives.
  • Use evidence-based practices and strategies to address the students’ behavioral, social, and emotional challenges and foster their self-regulation, communication, and social skills.
  • Provide frequent and positive feedback, reinforcement, and encouragement to the students.
  • Assess and document the students’ academic and functional performance using formal and informal measures.

CiTi BOCES is seeking a dynamic educational leader to oversee an Alternative Education program for high school students. This role involves providing leadership, guidance, and support to students, staff, and families in an alternative education setting. The Principal collaborates with teachers, counselors, community agencies, and other stakeholders to create a positive and effective learning environment for students who require alternative pathways to success.

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Program Leadership and Management:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the program.
  • Ensure compliance with state and district regulations related to alternative education.
  • Supervise and evaluate teaching staff, support personnel, and other program staff.
  • Monitor student progress and collaborate to adjust supports as needed to meet individual needs.

2.  Student Support and Advocacy:

Practical Nursing InstructorT02222024

CiTi BOCES is seeking a full-time Practical Nursing instructor for the Adult Education department.

The Practical Nursing Instructor will:

  • Work with adult learners in the classroom, lab and at clinical sites.
  • Expected to act as a student advisor,
  • Lead classroom learning,
  • Observe patient care given by students.
  • Lead pre- and post-conferences.
  • Communicate with staff concerning student expectations and limitations,
  • Participate in professional development and team meetings.
  • Have effective verbal and written communication skills.

Timeframe:

Starts March 25, 2024 (flexible) through May 31, 2024, and graduation attendance on June 26, 2024

2024-2025 school year July 22, 2024 – May 30, 2025, and graduation attendance on TBD.

Compensation:

  • Average 32.5 hours per week  
  • Schedule through the end of the 2023-2024 school year will be provided upon hiring.
