The Adolescent Specialist, Migrant Education provides academic, social-emotional, and family support services to migrant students in grades 7–12, with an emphasis on graduation readiness, college and career planning and student advocacy. The Adolescent Specialist works closely with students, families, school staff, and community agencies to ensure migrant students receive appropriate support and educational services that promote academic success.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to migrant adolescents through individual and small-group academic assistance, tutoring, and progress monitoring
- Provide instructional services, including extended learning activities that supplement core instruction provided by schools.
- Support students in meeting graduation requirements by reviewing credits, attendance, grades, testing needs, and academic plans
- Communicate with school counselors, teachers, administrators, and program staff to coordinate services and interventions
- Conduct family outreach, home visits and facilitate parent communication with home and school
- Assist students and families with referrals to school-based, health, social, and community resources
- Support college, career, scholarship, and postsecondary planning for secondary students
- Coordinate monthly activities for migrant youth in the areas of career development, post-secondary exploration, community services and leadership development.
- Maintain accurate student records, case notes, referrals, and service documentation
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Responsible for planning and organizing Migrant Summer School to ensure it meets the academic, social and logistical needs of migrant students.
- Develop and support instructional plans, enrichment activities, scheduling, and oversee daily program operations at Migrant Summer School

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As Per Middle Managers' Contract- $51,000/year
