Our Alternative Education programs provide students with opportunities to strengthen the competencies of a Portrait of a Graduate. Through a supportive and structured learning environment, students engage in meaningful academic experiences while developing the social-emotional skills necessary for success in school, career, and life.
Classrooms operate in settings with low student-to-adult ratios, clearly defined expectations, and individualized support that promote student agency, growth, and achievement. Instruction is designed to help students become engaged learners who can set goals, monitor progress, and apply critical thinking skills across academic and real-world contexts.
The programs integrate strong counseling services, behavioral supports, and explicit social-emotional learning with rigorous academic instruction. As students demonstrate growth toward individual academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals, CiTi BOCES partners with component school districts to support successful transitions and increased participation in general education settings.
