GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
CiTi BOCES is seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and visionary leader to serve as Principal of Career & Technical Education. The principal will foster a safe, inclusive, and rigorous environment where students experience belonging, discover their strengths, and build confidence and competence in their chosen career fields. The ideal candidate will lead with empathy, inspire collaboration and innovation, and support engaging, career-connected learning that prepares students to thrive in college, careers, and their communities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide instructional leadership for applied, project-based, and career-connected learning aligned with academic standards, technical competencies, employability skills, and industry expectations.
- Supervise, evaluate, coach, and support instructional and support staff while fostering collaboration, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
- Promote a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school culture grounded in belonging, high expectations, equitable access, and student success.
- Oversee student attendance, engagement, conduct, interventions, recognition, and support systems in collaboration with families and component districts.
- Assist with the development, implementation, evaluation, approval, and reapproval of CTE programs in compliance with NYSED and CiTi BOCES requirements.
- Support opportunities for students to earn technical endorsements, industry-recognized credentials, college credit, work-based learning experiences, and other indicators of career and college readiness.
- Use student and program data to strengthen instructional quality, enrollment, engagement, credential attainment, completion, and post-program outcomes.
- Collaborate with component districts, Adult Education, workforce-development leaders, employers, labor organizations, higher education, and community partners to strengthen regional career pathways.
- Support advisory committees and ensure programs remain responsive to student interests, industry standards, technological change, and regional workforce needs.
- Oversee program operations, including staffing, scheduling, budgets, facilities, equipment, safety, assessments, credentials, and student activities.
- Collaborate across CiTi departments and communicate effectively with students, staff, families, organizational leaders, component districts, and community partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction or designee.
LOCATION: CiTi BOCES - Center for Instruction, Technology, and Innovation
SALARY: $95,000-$113,000
