Job Description

Position Overview

CiTi BOCES is seeking student-centered Teaching Assistants to support Regional Summer School programs serving students in grades 9–12. Teaching Assistants will work closely with classroom teachers to support instruction, reinforce learning, and help ensure a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes student success.

 


Responsibilities

  • Support classroom instruction under the direction of the teacher

  • Provide assistance to individual students and small groups

  • Help reinforce key concepts and support completion of assignments

  • Assist in supporting diverse learners, including students with IEPs and 504 plans

  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment

  • Support classroom management and routines

  • Monitor student progress and assist with feedback as directed by the teacher

  • Assist with attendance and basic record-keeping

  • Communicate with teachers and administrators regarding student needs

  • Participate in required orientation and training sessions

  • Fulfill all duties associated with summer school procedures, expectations, and timelines

 

Locations:

  • APW Junior/Senior High School

  • G. Ray Bodley High School (Fulton)

Term: Summer 2026 (Dates vary by assignment)

Position Type: Seasonal / Part-Time

Reports To: Regional Summer School Principal

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certification (or eligibility to obtain)

Preferred:

  • Experience working with adolescents 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to support diverse learners

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff in a fast-paced environment
