In Home/School Tutor (part time)
Position will be providing tutoring to migrant students in Jefferson County. Accountable for scheduling, planning and implementing in-home/school tutoring for migrant students ages 3-21 years old.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Assess student needs and establish learning goals, develop and implement lessons to help students reach their goals. Conduct pre-school needs assessments to assess skill level, determine appropriate instruction and measure student progress. Communicate regularly with teachers to coordinate instructional activities and exchange information regarding the student’s progress. Make home visits to communicate with parents, update them regarding tutoring, relay school information, and encourage participation in parent involvement activities. Participate in local, state and regional staff development opportunities. Assist with planning and implementation of educational field trips, adolescent activities, parent meetings, summer programming and other special events. Transport migrant students and families to program activities, school functions, and to obtain necessary support services (must be BOCES approved driver). Complete all required paperwork including assessments, lesson plans, progress notes, and reports and submit in a timely manner.
