Job Description

CiTi BOCES is seeking a qualified and compassionate Clinical Supervisor to support high school students enrolled in our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Nursing Assistant Program during their clinical rotations. The Clinical Supervisor will provide direct supervision in our partnering, local long-term care facilities, ensuring students meet all clinical competencies required for New York State Nursing Assistant certification. This position is ideal for a licensed RN or LPN with a passion for mentorship, clinical instruction, and supporting students as they begin their healthcare careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide students during clinical rotations in accordance with NYSDOH and NYSED guidelines.
  • Maintain an 8:1 student-to-instructor ratio at all times during clinical instruction.
  • Reinforce classroom learning with hands-on instruction in long-term care settings.
  • Ensure students demonstrate required clinical competencies and adhere to professional, ethical, and safety standards.
  • Communicate regularly with the Nursing Assistant Instructor and program coordinator regarding student progress.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of student attendance, clinical hours, and performance-based competencies.
  • Support students in developing confidence, professionalism, and workplace readiness.
  • Serve as a role model for safe and compassionate care in geriatric and long-term care settings.

 

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Current New York State RN or LPN license in good standing.
  • Current CPR certification from an accredited provider (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a long-term care facility, as required by NYSDOH.
  • Must meet all NYSDOH requirements to serve as a clinical instructor in a Nursing Assistant Training Program.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to mentor and supervise high school students.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with CTE instructional staff and clinical partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supervising or teaching CNA students in a secondary or postsecondary setting.
  • Familiarity with NYSED CTE program requirements and clinical documentation standards.

Work Schedule & Environment:

  • Clinical shifts occur during school hours, typically weekday mornings or early afternoons.
  • Locations include approved long-term care facilities within Oswego County and surrounding areas.
  • Position includes standing and walking for extended periods, as well as engaging in hands-on demonstration and supervision.
