Job Description
  • The CTE Student Success Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting student engagement and achievement within Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. This position serves as a critical connector between students, CTE support personnel (Work-Based Learning Coordinators, School Counselors, Work-Based Learning Coaches), and our industry partners. The goal is to proactively support students, particularly those at risk, by facilitating access to meaningful learning opportunities and career pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Engagement & Support

  • Provide individualized support through 1:1 meetings, small & whole groups, with CTE students to address academic, career, and social-emotional needs.
  • Facilitate small-group and classroom presentations to promote CTE programs, career readiness, and available resources within the larger community.
  • Identify students at risk of disengagement and intervene with targeted support strategies.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and school-based support teams (counselors, coaches, teachers, etc.).

Coordination of CTE Resources

  • Collaborate with Work-Based Learning Coordinators, school counselors, and other staff to ensure students access internships, apprenticeships, mentorships, job shadowing, and career development experiences.
  • Assist students with resume development, interview preparation, and workplace readiness skills.
  • Track, monitor, analyze & act upon data around students’ participation in work-based learning activities, and support follow-up planning.

Industry & Community Engagement

  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with local industry representatives and employers.
  • Coordinate industry tours, job site visits, guest speaker sessions, and career exploration events.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating CTE Advisory Panel meetings with industry partners.
  • Promote opportunities for students to earn industry-recognized credentials and engage in career-aligned experiences.
  • Report monthly on CTE program projects, student events/happenings to department Administration & the Board of Education

Program Development & Administration

  • Support the development and implementation of career readiness programming aligned with NYSED CTE standards and CDOS requirements.
  • Data collection, analysis, and reporting to assess student progress and program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with administrators and teachers to align career development activities with instructional goals.
  • And, other duties as assigned by Supervisor
     
Job Qualifications
  • Valid NYSED certification, *or ability to obtain – all titles & certification types considered.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, career development, counseling, workforce development, or a related field. Master’s degree, preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with students, educators, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated experience working with high school students, preferably in a CTE or career readiness context.
  • Experience in work-based learning, workforce development, or industry partnership coordination.
  • Familiarity with NYS CTE and CDOS standards and graduation pathways.
