Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and creative NYS Certified Art Teacher to join our CiTi BOCES organization. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging art instruction, fostering creativity and artistic expression across all grade levels. This position requires a commitment to inclusive education and the passion to meet diverse learning needs. This position requires adaptability as it will service programs across multiple locations in Oswego County. 

Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Duties:
    • Develop and implement art curriculum that aligns with New York State Learning Standards.
    • Provide individualized and group instruction in various art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
    • Encourage students to explore their creativity and express themselves through art.
    • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support artistic growth.
    • Organize and display student artwork in school exhibitions and community events.
  • Support and Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with other educators and staff to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects.
    • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes creativity and self-expression.
  • Professional Development:
    • Stay current with best practices in art education and attend relevant professional development workshops and training sessions.
    • Engage in continuous learning to enhance instructional skills and knowledge of various art techniques and mediums.
Job Qualifications
  • NYS Art Teaching Certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience teaching art to K-12 students.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive education practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and digital art platforms.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of art history and contemporary art practices.
