The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation Adult Education Department has an opening for a part time HVAC Instructor. The instructor will guide the classroom and lab learning experiences for the students preparing to be entry-level HVAC Technicians.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide Hands-On Training: Instruct students in the proper use of HVAC tools, equipment, and safety
procedures.
• Assess Student Progress: Develop and administer assessments to measure student proficiency and provide
feedback for improvement.
• Develop Industry-Relevant Projects: Incorporate real-world scenarios and problem-solving activities to enhance
learning.
• Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards: Maintain a safe and organized classroom and lab environment in
accordance with OSHA and industry regulations.
• Provide Career Guidance: Assist students with career pathways, including resume building, job search
strategies, and interview preparation.
• Support Student Certification Preparation: Guide students in obtaining industry-recognized certifications, such
as OSHA-10, EPA 608, or other relevant credentials.
• Collaborate with Employers: Establish and maintain relationships with local HVAC companies to facilitate job
placements, internships, and guest speaker opportunities.
• Maintain Accurate Records: Document student attendance, progress, and performance as required by program
guidelines.
• Adapt Instructional Strategies: Modify teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
