Job Description

Job Summary:

CTE Advantage is seeking a Science Teacher for an anticipated 12-week maternity leave replacement. The successful candidate will provide engaging science instruction to students in grades 9–12, including Regents-level Life Science: Biology, and other secondary Science coursework, while supporting connections between academic content and Career and Technical Education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver Science instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards and student learning needs.
• Use engaging, hands-on, and real-world instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate academic and attendance records.
• Collaborate with academic, CTE, and student support staff.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom/laboratory environment.
• Participate in weekly MTSS and other relevant team meetings.

 

Anticipated: Maternity Leave Long-term Sub

CTE Advantage Science Teacher (Grades 9–12)

Location: CTE Advantage, Main Campus Mexico, NY
Job Type: Long-Term Substitute
Salary: Per Oswego County BOCES Teachers’ Association Contract
Reports To: CTE Principal

Job Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid New York State secondary Science teaching certification appropriate to the assignment.
• Secondary science teaching experience preferred; experience with Regents-level coursework is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, classroom management, organizational, and collaboration skills.
