Job Description

Oswego County P-TECH is seeking an innovative and highly skilled Technology Teacher to join our early college STEM program. This position is ideal for educators who are passionate about hands-on learning, engineering design, advanced manufacturing, and preparing students for real industry careers.

Oswego County P-TECH empowers students through hands-on, minds-on learning, preparing them for high-demand STEM careers through early college coursework, industry collaboration, and real-world problem solving.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver authentic, hands-on STEM units aligned to P-TECH’s engineering, manufacturing, and technology pathways.
  • Teach a range of applied technical content, including foundational electrical and mechanical principles, engineering design, CAD modeling, automation/controls, robotics, and advanced manufacturing processes.
  • Integrate real-world problem solving, industry tools, and lab-based learning into daily instruction.
  • Ensure, where applicable, that curriculum aligns with OCC expectations through CCN credentialing while maintaining strong engagement, safety, and professional skill development.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, industry-standard laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate with OCC faculty, industry partners, and P-TECH teaching teams.
  • Collaborate with community partners to design and implement engineering-focused service-learning projects that benefit local organizations.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to help classroom teachers integrate STEAM-focused and hands-on learning opportunities into their instructional spaces.
  • Coach students in professionalism, communication, teamwork, and safety.
  • P-TECH incorporates service-learning as an extension of engineering and manufacturing skills. The Technology Teacher will guide students in creating meaningful community projects such as designing or building items for nonprofits, schools, or municipal partners

 

 

Job Qualifications
  • NYS Technology Education (K–12) certification or eligibility for certification.
  • Strong skills in hands-on, lab-based instruction and classroom management.
  • Commitment to student safety, professionalism, and industry-level expectations.
  • Experience with engineering, manufacturing, CAD, robotics, automation, or related technical fields.
  • Experience with project-based or hands-on technical learning environments.
