Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Behavior Systems Specialist to join our STRIVE program. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in understanding and addressing student behavior, conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), and developing effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). This role requires a strong foundation in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and the ability to implement tiered behavioral interventions in classroom settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of student behavior.
  • Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to individual student needs.
  • Analyze behavioral data to monitor progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to create a cohesive approach to student behavior management.
  • Support the implementation of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) in classrooms.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on effective behavioral strategies and interventions.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in behavior management.
Job Qualifications
  • New York State certification in School Psychology, School Counseling, or School Social Work.
  • Experience working with special education students and understanding their unique behavioral needs.
  • Proficiency in conducting FBAs, writing BIPs, and analyzing behavioral data.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and experience in implementing tiered behavioral interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
