Our Bridges to Success program is an Alternative Education High School designed to meet the unique needs of students who require a non-traditional learning environment. Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary English Teacher to join our Bridges program. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to helping students achieve academic success and personal growth. This position requires a creative and flexible approach to teaching, with a focus on individualized instruction and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging English curriculum tailored to the needs of alternative education students.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student education.
• Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning experiences.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.

 

 

 

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• New York State teaching certification in 7-12 English.
• Experience working with alternative education students is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
