Job Description

Oswego County PTECH is seeking an innovative and dynamic STEM & Technology Innovation Teacher to inspire and educate students in coding, robotics, and drone technology. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who enjoys guiding students through real-world challenges with a hands-on, project-based approach. Our instruction goes beyond test preparation to foster deep understanding, critical thinking, and real-world application of knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach modular-based coding using a structured software platform with courses like Coding Foundations, Web Development Foundations, and Game Development Foundations
  • Lead robotics projects using LEGO Robotics, VEX Robotics, and/or open-ended creative engineering kits
  • Instruct students on safe drone operation, programming, and aerial design challenges
  • Develop project-based learning units that integrate multiple STEM areas, fostering creativity and real-world problem-solving skills
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate STEM learning across the broader curriculum
  • Stay current with technology education trends and certifications; participate in professional development
  • Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and administration regarding student progress and growth

 

 

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Technology Education, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Valid teaching certification or ability to obtain certification in [State/Region]
  • Experience teaching coding or working with middle and/or high school students in technology fields
  • Familiarity with modular programming instruction, or willingness to be trained on the modular software platform
  • Knowledge of basic web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript basics)
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills, with an emphasis on student engagement
  • Passion for preparing students with 21st-century digital and entrepreneurial skills
