Oswego County P-TECH is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Technology Education Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be a positive team player who enjoys participating in school spirit events, going on industry visits, and working with local industry partners on STEM challenges.
The ideal candidate will collaborate, plan, and implement lessons and unit plans with other content areas, including Life Science, Math, and English, to design and implement real-world, community-based projects that foster hands-on, interdisciplinary learning experiences for students. A co-taught course example would be Geometry in Construction. A co-taught unit example would be Studying Indoor Plants and Developing Self-Watering Containers.
We offer opportunities to develop technology electives based on the candidate’s expertise and interests. Preference will be given to candidates with experience or interest in agricultural-based projects, woodworking, metalworking, machining, robotics, or coding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary faculty to develop and implement project-based learning experiences.
- Teach technology education courses aligned with P-TECH’s mission and industry needs.
- Engage students in hands-on, applied learning opportunities in areas such as engineering graphics, materials processing, and manufacturing systems.
- Develop and implement technology electives based on personal expertise and student interest.
- Maintain a safe and effective laboratory or shop environment, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and instructional improvement.
