Job Description

CiTi BOCES is seeking a passionate and dedicated Long Term Substitute ELA Teacher to join our
Bridges to Success program, an Alternative Program for students in Oswego County in grades 9-12. The ideal candidate
will have a strong background in English Language Arts and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning
environment. This position involves delivering engaging and differentiated instruction to students, assessing student
progress, and collaborating with colleagues to support student success.

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver ELA lessons that align with state standards and the curriculum.
•  Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students in the Alternative Program.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts (grades 9-12).
• Experience working with high school students, preferably in an alternative education setting.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
