Job Description

CiTI BOCES is seeking a dedicated and passionate Alternative Education High School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality education and support to students in an alternative education setting. The setting will be a combination of direct classroom instruction and integration of instruction into vocational classes.  This role requires a dynamic individual who can adapt to diverse learning styles and needs, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging math instruction tailored to the needs of alternative education students.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid New York State teaching certification in Mathematics.
• Experience working in an alternative education setting is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth.
