Job Description

The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation (CiTi BOCES) is seeking New York State Certified Teachers to join the Synergy Virtual Tutoring Service team. This is a unique opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and possess the flexibility to thrive in a dynamic virtual learning environment. As a virtual tutor, you will play a crucial role in delivering personalized one-to-one or small group live virtual tutoring sessions to students during the school day or after school.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct live virtual interactive tutoring sessions in a synchronous videoconferencing environment
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit a virtual learning environment
  • Engage students in meaningful learning experiences
  • Track student progress and communicate effectively with students, guardians, and school districts
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment in a virtual community

 

Positions Available:

  • Science 7-12 (Dual certification a plus)
  • Social Studies 7-12
  • Math 7-12
  • English 7-12
  • Spanish 7-12
  • Health
  • Physical Education
  • Special Education (K-12, 7-12)
Job Qualifications
  • New York State Teaching Certificate
  • Instructional technology skills and familiarity with virtual learning platforms
  • Ability to think fluidly in a virtual work environment
  • Creativity and innovation in teaching approaches
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Availability between 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
    • Hours are flexible and are typically 1-3 hour time blocks
    • After school hours are available
  • Dual certification in relevant subject areas is a plus
